Kisshu's Angel Ch. 12

“That was what?!” Kisshu asks, not really believing what Pai just told him.

Pai repeated, “That device that the mew used to get to earth was something I invented in case if one of us got hurt and didn’t have the strength to come back here. That idea failed because I kept finding myself in weird places like the Bohemian deserts, the deepest depths of the sea, the frozen ice lands of Antarctica, and the hot volcanoes of Hawaii. I put all of that away in the storage room when it became a failure.”

Kisshu is basically shaking with rage as he asks, “Ichigo ends up finding that and teleports to earth. Wonderful!”

Pai tells him, “Not my fault that your cat found the storage room and became a little too curious. Ever heard the human saying, ‘Curiosity kills the cat’?”

“Please don’t say that,” Kisshu tells him, really not wanting think of that literally.

“Maybe we should get a leash and chain her to the wall so that the next time we go out, she doesn’t.”

Both Kisshu and Pai turn to the side and they see Taruto there, playing with his click-clack toy and he seems really annoyed. But he didn’t stop there. “Then we can use her to our advantage like threaten the Mews to give up and we might return to her alive.”

Pai tells him, “We, cyniclons may want earth back from the humans but we still have our pride. We will obtain earth through methods that require honorable actions.”

Kisshu asks, “Where the heck is this attitude coming from? Are you still angry that she called you a ‘midget’?”

“Hell no!”

Both Kisshu and Pai blink in surprise of that. Sure, Taruto swears sometimes but not like this. Taruto puts his click-clack toy away and gets up. “I’m taking a nap! I’m tired.” Then he teleport away to his room, they suspect.

Kisshu is speechless as Pai wonders, “You wouldn’t happen to know the cause of this, do you?”

Kisshu tries to think and the discussion that both Taruto and him had comes to mind. Mentally, he gasps in surprise while he’s trying not to show any emotions for Pai to catch. “I’m at a lost, Pai. Sorry. I’m going to hit the sacks too. Tomorrow’s a new day or so a human would say.” Pai just nods and Kisshu teleports back to his room where he sees Ichigo sitting with her knees close to her chest in the corner on his bed and she’s playing with the covers. Hearing him come in, she looks up and crawls to the edge.

“Kisshu, what’s wrong?”

He waves his hands in front of him and answers, “Nothing, nothing!” He walks over to the edge of the bed and Ichigo sits comfortably on the edge as he asks her, “Are you alright though? I’m sure that what happened must have been an adventure.”

“It was frightening, yes,” Ichigo tells him. “But you were there so I felt safe.”

“Why?” he asks. “They’re you’re friends. Why would you feel fear towards them?”

“But they hurt you, Kisshu!” He’s surprise while she grabs a hold of his arm and leans closer to him. “Ever since I’ve lost my memories, you’ve been there to help me retain it. I know that you didn’t take my memories because when I woke up, you looked surprise that I was there and you were trying to explain yourself even though I had no idea who you were at the time.”

“Ichigo…” he mumbles, surprise to hear her say that.

Then her hold got tighter as she tells him, “I don’t want to go back to earth.” His eyes widen to the size of entrée plates as she continues. “Not to those people. If they are really people I know, then I don’t want my memories. I want to stay here with you. Here, I’m most happy.”

As happy as he could be at this moment, he asks her, “But you do have a family. You have a mother and father who’s worried sick about you.”

“I know,” she mumbles. “But wouldn’t every family want their children to be happy. If I go back to that earth, I don’t think that I’ll be able to smile again.”

Then Kisshu’s voice went dead. “Yes, you would.”

“Uh?” she asks, looking up at him.

Then to her surprise, Kisshu grabs her and pulls her close. With his arms around her, Ichigo notices something. The hold feels desperate and unwilling, like he never wants to let her go again but he knows that he has too. It was confusing her and above all, scaring her. Especially with what he said next.

“Ichigo, I have to give you back.”

Before she knew it, both her and him teleported from his room to a place she has never seen before but she knows it’s earth. From what she can see, there are light green fields, trees, cement walking trails, and both her and Kisshu are standing in front of a huge hedge that’s shaped almost like an entrance. From what she can see, pass that hedge is what looks like a pink castle with heart windows and a golden cat with wings on the top. The building looks almost two stories tall and to her, this is the first time she seen it but it feels so familiar.

After arriving, Kisshu pulls Ichigo back and tells her, “I know that this is going to be hard but I need you to try and remember who blocked your memories.”

“What?” she asks, sounding like she thinks that what he’s asking is impossible. He hears that.

“Please, Ichigo! You need to try and remember.”

Ichigo tells him, “But I just told you! I don’t want to remember!”

“But you have too!” Ichigo is looking at him in surprise and hurt. However, Kisshu looks more hurt than her. He grabs her hands and says, “If you had your memories, you wouldn’t have said those words to me.” Her eyes widen in surprise and confusion as he bit his lip. He needs to tell her what he really knows right now. “Those people from before are your friends and we were meant to be enemies. You’re a human and I’m an alien; an alien who came from a hellish planet thousand of light years away from earth. We used to live on earth but the earth was changing during those times and the environment problems caused our kind to be on the brink of extinction. We left earth in search of a better planet but our new home was even worst. Leaving was out of the question and we have to live underground to survive. A cold dark place was our home. Stories of earth with it’s warm sun, green trees, and blue water was something we could only talk about. That was four million years ago. Our people sent us to earth as a last hope in saving them but when we arrived, we saw arrogant humans harming the environment. Then we got this crazy idea of helping the humans kill the environment faster so that the environment can kill them. That way our people can come back and heal the earth.”

“A fresh start?” Ichigo asks.

Kisshu chuckles a bit as he answers, “I guess you can call it that. When I came to earth, I hated humans for the things they’ve done and the harm they created. I saw them as disgusting, ugly beings but I ended up falling for one myself.” Ichigo’s cheeks turn red as he continues. “When I saw you, you were so cute with your little super hero outfit. When you fought, you were determined to fight to save those that you love and love you back. I saw you as a strong, determined, feisty, cute girl. I couldn’t get you out of my mind so I tried to make you mine by forcing you, pestering you, and even stole your first kiss. Heck! I even stalked you because I wanted to know everything about you and see your face every day. But the reason why you kept rejecting me was because you already loved another.

“I will not lie but when you appeared on my bed with no memories what so ever and we needed to destroy the humans, we had the crazy plan of keeping you hidden so that we could get rid of the others and take earth back for our people. I even wanted you try and fall for me while you were clueless on who you really love and of your true self. But if all of that happened as plan, then it wouldn’t be fair. Not to you or the others.” His hand gripping hers is shaking and it’s tight. Ichigo couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Does that mean him helping her trying to regain his memories was a lie?

Then Kisshu pulls her into a hug, much to her surprise and it was the same as before. He didn’t say anything more and Ichigo thought that he didn’t need to. From this hug, she can tell that he’s in more pain than she is for his lies. He feels guilty for what he tried to do and know he’s returning her. So what she tries to do is she closes her eyes and tries to remember as best as she could.

“I was…walking.”

Kisshu’s eyes widen as he pushes her back to look at her. She still has her eyes closed as her face looks like she can see something but can’t really point it out. “I was planning on visiting someone. But after I decided to go, a hand appeared.”

Kisshu asks, “Do you know this hand?”

“No,” she answers. Then her face looks like she’s in pain. She starts wincing in pain as her hands go to her face to hold her aching head.

“You can do this, Ichigo!” he supports. “You almost got it. Just tell me if you saw anything besides the hand.”

“The hand…the hand was…covering my eyes so I didn’t get a good look. But…”

“But?”

“I saw…black hair.”

‘Black hair?’ Kisshu wonders, thinking if he knows someone with that color. Then one face pops up and the moment it did, a fire of rage was started and it spread fast like a gasoline drench house.

Ichigo opens her eyes and she sees anger on Kisshu’s face. She calls, “Kisshu?” He looks at her but she can still see the anger on his face.

His hands slide off her and he tells her, “I have to go.” Then he starts to fly pass her but she quickly turns around and grabs his wrist. He stops and looks back at her in surprise.

“Please don’t go, please,” she begs. In surprise of her behavior, Kisshu lands on the ground and stares. She stares in the ground and asks, “Was…the one I love in that group that attacked us?”

Inside, Kisshu knew what she was getting at. He grits his teeth in frustration but there is one thing he wants to do. He turns to her and his free hand goes to her face. She gasps in surprise and looks up to see him kiss her forehead while his hand strokes her cheek. He tells her, “Before you lost your memories, I attacked you more times than anyone. Your lover wasn’t in that group.” Then he turns away from her and flies away; causing Ichigo to let go of his hand as he left. She watch him go full speed into the forest and for some odd reason if she was her old self, she felt like her heart was breaking.
